What a lovely visit we had today from Zayaan's mum! We found out that they celebrated a special day last week with their friends and families, called Eid. They showed us some very important objects in their faith such as a topi, a hijab and praying mats.
Zayaan even shared some of the prayers in Urdu that Muslims say throughout the day.

It's Bonfire Night and the sky is bright.
The first term has gone so quickly but we have achieved so much in these few weeks! We have a long walk each morning to our classroom from the gate where we say good bye to our parents and carers, and we can now do this with a big smile. All our new friends have started and we are getting to know one another as we play. We are experts at washing hands thoroughly and independently. Our adults are very proud of us for listening well and doing our best when trying something new and challenging.
It all started with a woodlouse wondering into our classroom at home time ... The next morning we grabbed the magnifying glasses and jars and went outside to look for them. We were able to observe them very closely and found out interesting facts via the internet.
But it wasn't just woodlice we found! Take a look.
Some of the children spotted little seeds inside the apples they were eating during snack time. We decided to save them and plant them.
What's cooking today?
We are practicing taking turns fairly during games.
We always make the most of our outdoor daily play and enjoy using the bikes, hoops and beanbags. Best of all we love playing chasing games on the field. We are getting better at changing directions to avoid bumping into one another and catching others without getting too puffed out.
